Getting started
- Tap Add birthday, enter a name and date, then save. The birth year is optional.
- Your list shows the next birthday first. Open a person to view, edit, or delete their birthday.
- Open Settings using the gear button. Choose reminder days and a time, then allow notifications when asked.
Hurra requires iOS 17 or later. You don't need an account or an internet connection to manage birthdays and local reminders.
Reminders
The default reminder is the day before at 9:00 AM. You can choose seven days before, the day before, the birthday itself, or several of these days. The time follows your phone's time zone.
If a reminder doesn't appear, check that reminders are enabled in Hurra, at least one reminder day is selected, and reminders are enabled for that person. Check the notification status in Hurra's Settings and use its link to iOS Settings if permission is denied.
Focus, Scheduled Summary, sound settings, and other iOS notification settings can affect how and when a notification appears. iOS handles delivery, including while Hurra is closed.
iOS limits how many notifications an app can schedule. With a large list or some leap-year dates, Hurra prioritizes upcoming reminders. If it asks you to open the app before a date, do so to refresh the schedule. Background refresh alone cannot guarantee unlimited reminder coverage.
After changing a birthday, reminder time, or language, allow the reminder update to finish. If Hurra reports an error, use Try again. Deleting a person or disabling their reminders removes their pending reminders.
Dates and language
A birthday on February 29 is treated as February 28 in a non-leap year. Without a birth year, Hurra shows the birthday without an age.
Choose English, Svenska, or Follow device language in Settings. Your choice also applies to upcoming notifications. If your phone uses an unsupported language, Hurra falls back to English.

Your data
Names, birthday dates, optional birth years, reminder settings, and your language choice are stored locally on your iPhone. Hurra has no account, contact import, data export, or cross-device sync in this version.
Deleting the app removes its local data. Do not reinstall Hurra as a troubleshooting step if you need to keep your birthdays. Offloading an app is different from deleting it.
App data may be included in iCloud Backup or a computer backup, depending on your settings. This is device backup, not live synchronization. Recovery depends on your backup and Apple's restore process; BearField IT has no server copy to restore.
